The Prime Minister's Division

The primary function of the Prime Minister's Division is to assist the Prime Minister in leading the government, support an effective Cabinet with appropriate processes; improve the policy and operation capability within departments and ministries, coordinate policy development and evaluation, and ensure agencies are working together to implement the policies of the government of the day.

CORE FUNCTIONS OF THE OFFICE OF THE PRIME MINISTER AND CABINET

  • Provide quality advice to the Prime Minister and the Cabinet and support the Government’s reform agenda
  • Implement major reforms in line with government’s policies
  • Ensure the state’s legal, compliance and regulatory framework delivers safe, reliable and efficient services to the people
  • Ensure that our financial resources are targeted to best achieve the government’s agenda and the people’s needs.
  • Effectively plan the upgrade and rehabilitation of the justice, economic, political and government systems
  • Communicate the governments’ programme and reforms
  • Effectively plan for the future sustainability and peace in Solomon Islands
